Australia’s international borders to re-open this month
Australia will re-open to the rest of the world on February 21.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the news on Monday afternoon.
The international border has been shut for some two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I think it is another important milestone,” Mr Morrison said.
All arrivals to Australia must have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine, or hold a valid exemption.
They will still be subject to each state’s quarantine requirements.
It shapes as a huge boost for the country’s tourism sector, which has done it tough over the past two years.
