Latest: Baby girl dies in Euroa drowning
A baby girl has drowned in the state’s north.
Emergency services were called to a Euroa home about 9pm last night amid reports a 15-month-old girl had drowned.
Tragically, she couldn’t be revived.
The circumstances of the drowning are not yet clear.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
It’s the first fatal drowning of the Victorian summer.
Twenty-three people drowned in Victoria between December and March last season.
That was a record, and nine more lives lost than the five-year average.
