A record number of commuters are touching-on and touching-off on Melbourne public transport network.

The latest fare evasion report by Public Transport Victoria is expected to show fare compliance has increased over the past six months.

Transport Minister Jacinta Allen tells 3AW Breakfast officers have put in a big effort, in making sure commuters are doing the right thing.
