LATEST: Lidia Thorpe quits The Greens

Lidia Thorpe has quit the Greens.

The controversial Senator has announced she’ll be joining the crossbench in federal parliament.

Senator Thorpe says she wants to help lead the “black sovereignty” movement and felt she couldn’t do that properly while in the Greens.

She was forced to resign as deputy leader of The Greens last year after she failed to disclose her relationship with a former bikie boss.
