LATEST: Multiple people injured after car hits voters outside election voting centre
Multiple people have been hit by a car after it plowed into voters outside a pre-polling booth.
The collision happened at Ringwood on Friday afternoon.
Ian told 3AW Afternoons he witnessed the disturbing incident outside Maroondah Sports Club.
“There were a lot of people were crying and screaming,” he said.
Ambulance Victoria said two people had been taken to hospital, neither of which are believed to have suffered critical injuries.
Victoria Police said it was believed the driver of the car, an 89-year-old Croydon woman, was attempting to park her Ford Focus sedan when she reversed into the crowd.
She was assessed by paramedics at the scene and will undergo a licence review.
