Israel-Hamas war: Leading foreign affairs expert warns of ‘dire’ potential world implications

Tom Elliott

A leading foreign affairs expert says we’re “right to be nervous” about the Israel-Hamas conflict.

With Israel poised to go into Gaza, international security expert Dr David Wright-Neville said this “really could escalate into a serious conflict”.

Dr Wright-Neville says the current risk of escalation to a nuclear war is low, but the potential for a major conventional conflict is “concerning”, and “the knock on effects for the rest of the world are really quite dire”.
