A leading researcher in the field of AI says protections and regulation is needed to prevent people from being misled by the rise of AI influencers.

Scientia professor of artificial intelligence at the University of New South Wales Toby Walsh says people are being fooled by AI model Mia Zelu who went viral for attending Wimbledon.

“I think we are going to have to be protective from being fooled and deceived, because here, it’s pretty harmless – it’s just someone trying to sell you some brands … it’s going to make a difference when it’s politicians and celebrities,” he told Ross and Russel.
