Learner driver facing string of charges after allegedly evading breath testing unit
A learner driver has been arrested after he allegedly sped away from a breath testing unit.
A police officer had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the car.
It’s alleged the unsupervised learner accelerated past the breath testers on Kororoit Creek Road, Altona, on Wednesday night.
But the escape was short-lived.
Police arrested the man at his Truganina home less than half an hour later.
The 19-year-old faces multiple charges including recklessly endangering an emergency worker, which carries a maximum penalty of ten years jail.
