‘Left in the dark’: Parent at Fitzroy North Primary speaks out about overdue projects and dilapidated conditions
Parents have told 3AW Drive they’ve had no option but to pull their children out of their schools due to dilapidated conditions.
Parent, Sophie Bryant whose children attend Fitzroy North Primary School, says projects for her school are overdue, and multiple classes are being “forced to share small spaces”.
“The school community has been left in the dark … it’s been well over a year, the completion date,” she said.

“We’ve not only had problems with a mouldy classroom, there’s now slate tiles coming loose,” she added.
She also points out not all families have the ability to pull their kids out of a school and into another.
A Department of Education spokesperson says they’re delivering a $9 million upgrade at Fitzroy North Primary School.
