A Sydney teenager who shot to internet fame thanks to his distinctive mullet is suing a number of media outlets for defamation for exposing him to ridicule.

Ali Ziggi Mosslmani was photographed at an 18th birthday party, and when the photographer posted the photo on Facebook it was quickly picked up, and turned into internet memes.

Media lawyer Justin Quill explained to Ross and John Mr Mosslmani’s legal bid, admitting it was an ‘unusual’ case.

‘I was reading the judgement this morning and I just had to laugh…’
