Leigh Matthews’ key question on what Peter Wright’s suspension may mean for future incidents

Leigh Matthews wonders whether Peter Wright’s hefty suspension for a late hit on Sydney’s Harry Cunningham will deter other players from performing similar acts in the future.

Cunningham was left concussed in the incident, with the Bombers forward slapped with four-week ban as a result.

“You have to keep reminding yourself that penalties are doubled for these (incidents),” Leigh told Wide World of Sports.

“What was a week or two is now three or four (weeks), this is what the game has decided.”
