Leigh Matthews pans ‘silly’ comments about Alastair Clarkson

Leigh Matthews has a message for anyone questioning Alastair Clarkson’s future.

After Hawthorn’s 0-3 start, some pundits in the media have gone so far as to suggest the Hawks aren’t playing for their four-time premiership coach.

But Matthews said Clarkson hasn’t suddenly become a worse coach than he was when he took the Hawks to a hat-trick of flags.

‘That’s a silly thing to say,’ he said.
