Leigh Matthews shares his thoughts on the controversial score review at the Gabba

Leigh Matthews says it’s almost impossible to know whether the right decision was made after Tom Lynch’s “goal” in the dying stages of Thursday night’s elimination final was overturned on review.

And that’s the problem.

The goal umpire initially called Lynch’s shot a goal, which would have all but certainly sealed a famous win for the Tigers, but called for a video review to make sure.

Despite what many thought was inconclusive evidence, the decision was made to overrule the umpire and call a behind.

The Lions went on to win by just two points.
