Link between full moon and crime ‘a myth’

It’s often been thought that a full moon brings out the lunatics.

And if that’s the case, police and emergency crews could be in for a big 48 hours with the biggest moon in 70 years due this week.

But is there actually a link between a full moon and increased crime?

‘Absolutely not, unfortunately,’ Dr Geoff Sheldon told Ross and John after examining eight years of police data.

‘It’s something we’ve all believed for many years.’
