Lions CEO ‘incredibly disappointed’ with Tom Rockliff

A Twitter exchange between Tom Rockliff and friends has landed the Brisbane Lions skipper in hot water.

The club is ‘extremely disappointed’ with Rockliff, after it’s been alleged he tweeted about a girl being ‘at least a 3 out of 10’.

Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann says the behaviour is completely unacceptable and is not helpful to the club or Rockliff.

‘It’s just not on from our point of view,’ Swann told Sports Today.

‘Especially with everything that’s happening with all the discussions. He’s been in the limelight a bit, it just wasn’t very clever.’

The tweets have since been deleted and he has issued an apology on Twitter.

With the trade period set to begin on Monday, it has been suggested that Rockliff could be on the move if a deal suits both parties.

The past two seasons have been difficult for the Lions’ captain, forced to battle through injury and poor team form.

In that period of time Rockliff has held up his end of the bargain on the field, clearly leading from the front with his own personal output.

Rockliff is yet to meet with incoming Football boss David Noble or coach Chris Fagan.

When they are to meet, Swann says the incident will be discussed.

‘If you’re going to be captain fo a football club, you don’t want to be involved in things like this.’
