Lions remain unfazed about Beams speculation
Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann isn’t expecting star midfielder Dayne Beams to go anywhere.
Beams’ future at the Lions beyond the end of this season was a topic of much speculation this week.
But Swann is confident he’ll remain at the Lions for 2019 and beyond.
“He’s made no indications he won’t be at the club next year,” he said.
“(His manager) Paul Connors has said that he hasn’t had anyone ring him or make an offer. We’re just keep on keeping on at this stage.
“He’s a really valuable member of the club and he’s playing good footy, which is terrific. He’s been great for the young blokes.
“We hope and expect that he’ll play for the next two years, minimum.”
Swann: "I've always been been a red card fan for the really blatant ones."
Tom: "Like Jeremy Cameron?"
Swann: "That's not as blatant."

Swann said he was a fan of bringing in a red card rule for “really blatant” incidents after Andrew Gaff’s eight-week suspension following his punch on Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw last weekend.
“I’ve always felt that a red card is justified,” Swann said.
