The Yarra City Council passed a motion on Tuesday, calling for the relocation of the medically supervised injecting room in North Richmond.

Press PLAY to hear why mayor Stephen Jolly said the facility was almost ‘set up to fail’

“It’s been really scary for a lot of kids and families in the area. We support a supervised injecting facility, but it has to be in a better spot than next to a school,” mayor Jolly said on 3AW Breakfast.

The CEO of the Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association, Chris Christoforou, then told Tom Elliott “it’s there for a very good reason, and I think the stats speak for [themselves].”
