After an 11 goal opening opening quarter the scoring rate slowed right down. Two late goals in the third quarter brought Carlton right back into the game. The Blues looked dangerous in the final but could not get in front at the end.

However Sydney’s win has come at quite a cost. There are serious injury concerns to Will Hayward (jaw), Jarrad McVeigh (quad). Carlton did not escape the unscathed with Mitch McGovern not playing in the final term with a hamstring concern.

The Swans entered the major break 18 points ahead after a dominant second quarter.  Listen to Leigh Matthews and Matthew Lloyd discuss what Carlton can do to get back in the game.
