Days after a major storm event cut power to thousands, some parts of the Dandenong Ranges remain in the dark.

Outages are being reported in areas including Emerald, Gembrook and Cockatoo.

3AW Drive listener Peter tells Tom Elliott power had wrongfully been returned to his Belgrave Heights home and they had left live powerlines lying on the ground.

Spokesman for AusNet Services, Hugo Armstrong admits to Tom it was a big oversight.

‘I’m embarrassed to say this, but there’s been a pretty awful stuff up there. The good news at least for Peter is he has been on supply, but the unacceptable thing is been that there has potentially been a pretty dangerous situation there.’ ? Hugo Armstrong said on 3AW Drive.
