Local Caroline Springs neighbourhood street patrol returns

A local Caroline Springs street patrol is back.

The patrol of up to 50 people started up in July in response to a spate of home invasions aggravated burglaries in the area, but drew criticism from police.

It was briefly put on hold, but 3AW caller Rob told Tom Elliott they have reassembled after another increase in crime.

‘The women, the children, the elderly, they deserve to live in peace,’ he said.

Many APEX gang members will be released from jail in the coming weeks, which Rob said is part of the reason behind the group re-forming.
