Local residents protest the removal of 229 trees from Beaumaris high school
There’s anger over a plan to cut down 229 trees along the fenceline at Beaumaris High School to make way for school upgrades.
But, there’s been a minor win. Works on the trees has been halted until the community is consulted.
Locals say they weren’t consulted about the removal and have started a petition in an attempt to prevent the trees going.
Police attened the protest at the school ahead of the planned tree removal.

‘The trees are still coming down this morning, we’re still unaware which of the 229 trees are coming down.’ says Caroline.
