Lockers installed at Altona Beach for people to store their personal belongings

It’s come to this.
Lockers have been installed at Altona Beach for people to store their personal belongings while they’re in the water.
Sharon Walsh from the Altona Traders Association told Tom Elliott it is in response to a conspicuous rise in thefts at the beach.
‘You’d pop your keys under your towel and head into the water, and, sadly, opportunists would be watching you and take your valuables,’ Ms Walsh said.
She said it took a while, but the local council has agreed to install safe lockers on the beach.
The lockers cost $5 for the day.
Tom said it’s a great idea, and it should be implemented at other beaches.
