Long-term Essendon doctor takes leave following cancer diagnosis
Essendon club doctor Bruce Reid has taken indefinite leave after being diagnosed with cancer.
Reid has undergone surgery for mesothelioma, a form of cancer affecting mesothelial cells in internal organs.
The long-term Bombers doctor is currently recovering in hospital.
“Reidy’s health and wellbeing are our number one priority during this difficult time,” Essendon CEO Xavier Campbell said in a club statement.
