Lord Mayor candidate’s ambitious campaign for Eid and Diwali public holidays

A Melbourne Lord Mayoral candidate is campaigning to make Diwali, Eid and Hanukkah public holidays in Victoria and wants to allocate $10m to boost city festivals for these holidays.

Melbourne City councilor and Lord Mayoral candidate Jamal Hakim joined 3AW Mornings to discuss his ambitious campaign to make Diwali, Eid and Hanukkah public holidays in Victoria.

“It’s time to celebrate and recognise these important days in our community,” Hakim said on 3AW Mornings.
