Lord Mayor defends $50m consultants bill, promises action on QVM

The Lord Mayor has defended Melbourne City Council’s $50 million bill for consultants.

Sally Capp says the bill is not substantial within a total events bill of about $500 million annually.

She told Neil Mitchell it was an appropriate cost to pay for events like New Years Eve and Moomba.

Also on the agenda this morning was the Queen Victoria market’s rejuvenation, and when we can finally see some action.
