The City of Melbourne have revealed a plan to fix the insecurity and violence that has plagued the CBD, by employing 11 city safety officers.

Lord mayor of Melbourne Nick Reece joined 3AW Mornings and explained why they are planning on introducing the security guard program.

“There’s an epidemic of petty crimes, tagging, shoplifting and it’s not being pursued and prosecuted,” Reece told Tom Elliott.
