Veteran actress Lorraine Bayly knows better than most that the show must go on.

But on opening night of The Sound of Music in Sydney, a mishap in the first scene left Ms Bayly flat on the floor with a broken foot.

Ever the entertainer, Ms Bayly pushed on to complete the performance.
