Lucky escape for driver and staff as car ploughs into 7-Eleven

A driver has had a lucky escape after ploughing into a convenience store in Melbourne’s north this afternoon.

Hassan told Tom Elliott the car has smashed into the 7-Eleven on Edgars Road in Thomastown.

“He’s driven through the doors and all the windows are broken,” he said.

“No one’s injured, the driver’s all right.”

Police are on the scene, the store remains closed.
