Maccas fire: Diners evacuated
Diners have been evacuated and firefighters have been called to the McDonalds at Dingley Village.
3AW Mornings caller Claire says she was going through the drive-through in Centre-Dandenong Road – when she saw smoke and flame.
“It looked like someone was doing works. He’s sitting out the front a little bit tearful,” Clare told Neil Mitchell.
A witness says the Shell service station next door is also shut down as smoke continues to billow.

And it seems not all heroes wear capes.
Some wear Maccas uniforms.
McDonalds supervisor Jason Petrovic was on his way to start his shift when he saw smoke billowing from the roof.
Luckily Jason is also a CFA volunteer.
He made sure his staff were safe before putting his firefighter uniform on over his McDonalds uniform.
“I jumped on the end of the hose line and worked with the guys to extinguish the fire,” Jason told Neil Mitchell.
