MACQUARIE NATIONAL NEWS

A police officer has been injured during a dramatic arrest after a home invasion at Frankston this morning.

The female resident, 35, called police after a man broke into her Fairway Street home about 2.50am.

She met police outside the property about three minutes later.

When the officers went inside they found the man flicking through some magazines in the lounge room.

Police say he resisted arrest.

During the arrest, one of the officers suffered a minor injury to his arm.

They eventually apprehended the Frankston man, 27, who is not believed to be known to the resident.

He was taken to hospital under police guard for treatment on a facial injury suffered in the arrest.
