The Prime Minister has not ruled out helping foot the bill for a rail link to Melbourne Airport.

There are reports next month’s federal budget is expected to include money for the rail link.

The money would come from the $1.4 billion asset recycling fund from the sale of the Port of Melbourne.

Malcolm Turnbull told Neil Mitchell the federal government is considering where its funding would be best spent.

‘I don’t want to be drawn on specific projects, but it’s always been something that’s seen as an omission in Melbourne,’ he said on 3AW Mornings.

‘We’re talking to our colleagues about our infrastructure priorities.’

Meanwhile, the PM also condemned the horrific chemical attack in Syria.

He did not rule out more military action.

‘We’re in close touch with our American allies. I don’t want to speculate,’ he said.
