Man allegedly opens fire on police helicopter

A man who allegedly opened fire on a Victoria Police helicopter has been released on bail.

Police were called to a property at Axe Creek, near Bendigo, about 11.30pm on Friday, when upon arriving they say a man began shooting at the chopper.

A 50-year-old man was given bail and is due to appear in court later this month, on charges including reckless conduct endangering life.
