Man and his attempted rescuer plucked from Docklands water
Two men have been rescued from the water at Docklands overnight.
A man aged in his 20s initially jumped in the water off Harbour Esplanade in a bid to rescue a man aged in his late 50s.
But emergency services were called about 9.20pm when the second man also found himself in trouble.
The two men were pulled from the water.
The man aged in his 50s is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
The man aged in his 20s was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
