Man arrested after bizarre rampage involving a truck
A man is under police guard in hospital following a bizarre rampage involving a stolen 16 tonne flatbed truck in Melbourne’s north.
The truck was stolen from Quarter Street at Roxburgh Park around 1pm on Wednesday.
It was involved in a collision at Preston shortly before 7pm, the driver hitting multiple cars on Brentwood Drive, Lalor.
He’s tried to steal another vehicle in an attempted carjacking at a service station on Edgars Road.
He then got back in the truck and drove to the Epping Police Station around 8.30pm.
A 47-year-old South Morang man was arrested with the assistance of the K-9 unit, police also deploying OC Spray.
He is under police guard in hospital with minor injuries.
Police are calling on witnesses to come forward.
