Man arrested after high-speed pursuit on South Gippsland Highway

A 23-year-old man has been arrested after a high-speed chase on the South Gippsland Highway.

It’s believed he was driving a stolen vehicle.

Police were alerted to the driver at around 11:20am on Wednesday before he was intercepted.

Witness Tony told Elise Elliott, filling in for Dee Dee on 3AW Afternoons, said the car “certainly had some speed on it”.

“The police have turned their lights off, probably thinking this is a hopeless case, we’re not going to catch this nutter.

“It didn’t look too good.”
