Man arrested following police pursuit over alleged Frankston armed car-jacking
Police say they made a risk assessment before deciding to pursue a man suspected of an armed car-jacking at Frankston.
A man is believed to have got out of a black Holden Commodore armed with a handgun around 12.45am on Wednesday.
Police believe he threatened a man in the driveway of an Ashley Avenue business before making off in the man’s Hyundai ix35.
The vehicle was then spotted by highway patrol members.
Those officers made a risk assessment, following police protocol, before chasing the vehicle for 25 minutes through the streets of Carrum Downs and Dandenong.
An Endeavour Hills man, 22, was eventually arrested on foot.
The gun has not be recovered.
The victim of the car-jacking was not injured.
