Man arrested over Carlton sexual assault, police still hunting second man

A man has been arrested following the sexual assault of a woman who was in the Carlton area last Sunday morning.

Police are still on the hunt for another man, 26-year-old Harley Palise pictured below.

A 23-year-old Doreen man handed himself in at Mernda police station on Friday morning.

He’s currently being interviewed by police.

A woman aged in her 30s was picked up in a vehicle in the vicinity of Lygon Street and Grattan Street about 4.30am and subsequently sexually assaulted.

Anyone who sights Palise is urged to contact triple zero (000) immediately and should not approach him.
