Man attacked by carjacker at Malvern East early Tuesday morning
A man has been injured in a violent car-jacking at Malvern East this morning.
The terrifying incident happened on Waverley Road, Malvern East at about 3.30am on Tuesday morning.
It’s understood the driver, a man aged in his forties was pulled from his vehicle by a man armed with a hammer.
The offender fled in the victims car.
Paramedics were called to the scene, they treated the victim for upper body injuries.
He was taken to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.
Ross and John spoke with Channel 9 reporter, Jayde Vincent who was at the scene.
‘He was nudged from behind, then twice more’
‘He got out of his car to find out what was going on… then was attacked with a hammer’. – Jayde told 3AW Breakfast.
The victim managed to take some photos of the offenders, leading to the arrest of a man.
Police are still hunting for two other men involved.
