Man attacked with crowbar in violent carjacking at Malvern
Police say drivers who find themselves involved in minor bingles in the early hours of the morning and fear for their safety should drive straight to a police station.
It comes after yet another violent car jacking in Malvern.
A 23-year-old man was hit in the chest with a crow bar and had his Audi stolen at about 2.15am.
Like the incident nearby yesterday, where a Mercedes driver was attacked with hammer, the offenders had caused a minor bingle to get the victim to pull over.
But Acting Inspector Mick Daly said police do not believe they were linked.
He implored drivers to contact Triple Zero if they were concerned about their safety.
‘You have to be conscious of your environment, if it’s 3.30am in the morning and a quiet spot, lock your doors and make sure you’re comfortable with the driver of the other vehicle before you get out of the car,’ he said.
