Police have confirmed they’re investigating claims of a brutal bashing and carjacking in yet another disturbing attack linked to the notorious APEX gang.
An Avondale Heights man, 29, had pulled over in his car on Toorak Road when he was struck from behind by another vehicle.
The man got out of his car and was then set upon by six males and struck to the head with a baseball bat.
They demanded his mobile phone and then stole his Mercedes.
He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The man, named Michael, took to Facebook to share details of the disturbing incident which happened at 2am on Monday.
Police believe his stolen car was then involved in an aggravated burglary at a home in Cranbourne less than two hours later.
Andrea was being given a lift home from a night out in an Uber when they were flagged down by Michael on the side of Toorak Road.
‘He was in massive shock. He was shaking and couldn’t really speak at the start,’ she told Neil Mitchell.
