A driver who was busted speeding by police in Victoria’s north east says he did so to avoid damaging his car in a pothole.

Albert Heystek openly admits to doing 110km/h on the Kiewa Valley Highway, but said he was sick of having to replace his tyres due to pothole damage on Victoria’s roads.

“It’s expensive,” he told Neil Mitchell.
