Man caught up in ugly MCG brawl shares his version of events

A man caught up in the ugly brawl at the MCG after the Carlton v Collingwood game on Sunday has shared his version of events.

Alex, who is seen being hit in the head by another man in footage of the fight, told Neil Mitchell things turned nasty when two women and a man began yelling abuse in the third quarter.
He claims they yelled racial slurs one of his friends, who is Aboriginal, and they were escorted away by security, but returned as the final siren sounded.
“I turned around and it was on,” Alex said.
“I have not seen abuse like that at the football, ever.
“I’m no snowflake.”
Alex says he does not intend to press charges in relation to the fight.

Yesterday’s thrilling MCG clash between Carlton and Collingwood was soured by ugly scenes after the siren, with a heated scuffle breaking out between fans.
