Man charged after elderly woman hit and killed at Sunshine North
A driver has been charged following the death of a 72-year-old woman who was attempting to cross the road at Sunshine North.
Police say two elderly women were attempting to cross McIntyre Road at Sunshine North just after 7pm on Sunday night.
They were struck by a north-bound Ford Ute.
A 72-year-old-woman died, while a 74-year-old woman remains in hospital with serious injuries.
A Truganina man, 40, was arrested and later charged with dangerous driving causing death.
He’s due to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.
