Man critical, young girl injured, in stabbings at South Yarra and Cheltenham

A man is in a critical condition and a young girl is recovering after separate stabbing incidents overnight. 

Paramedics were called to South Yarra just before midnight following reports a man had suffered upper body injuries.

He was gone when paramedics arrived but had made his way to The Alfred hospital.

He is in a critical, but stable, condition.

A young girl, meanwhile, was stabbed at a Cheltenham home around 9.50pm Tuesday.

She suffered a minor wound and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
