Man dead, arrest made, as police swarm on Deer Park street

A man has been charged with murder following a shooting in Deer Park yesterday.

3AW was alerted to a massive police presence in the area on Wednesday afternoon.

April told Tom Elliott she was sunbaking outside a house a few doors down when the corner of Poole and Station streets were swarmed with emergency services.

“It was really strange,” she said.

It was later revealed a body of a man, aged 37, had been found with gunshot wounds in a Poole Street home.

A 48-year-old Deer Park man was arrested at the scene.

He was this morning charged with one count of murder and is due to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
