Man dead following police shooting in Melbourne’s outer east

A man has died following a police shooting in Yarra Junction yesterday evening.

Victoria Police Sergeant and media advisor Julie-Anne Newman says police were called to a Warburton Highway address and observed a man allegedly assaulting a woman.

“There’s been an interaction and what has unfolded ultimately is a police officer has discharged their firearm towards the man,” she told Ross and Russ.
