Man dies in Thorpdale pub fire

A man has died in a pub fire at Thorpdale.

Firefighters found the body of the man in the debris of the Station Street Hotel, which caught fire shortly after 1.30am on Tuesday.

Neighbours called emergency services after noticing the blaze, with CFA crews taking just over an hour to control the fire.

Police are now looking into the circumstances around the blaze.

They’re yet to confirm the identity of the man found inside.

The building has been extensively damaged.
