Man fights for life after Northcote crash

A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a crash at Northcote.

Police have been told the rider appeared to be travelling at speed just prior to the collision on High Street, shortly before 11pm on Sunday night.

It’s believed the rider lost control, near the intersection of Urquhart Street, and crashed into a tram stop barrier.

The Flemington man, 29, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are making an appeal for witnesses.

It was reported earlier the black and white KTM motorcycle was seen on Hoddle Street travelling erratically and at speed just prior to the collision.
