Man hospitalised after being attacked in Malvern East

LATEST: A man who was attacked with an axe after a number of men broke into his Malvern East home is in a serious condition in hospital.

It’s believed as many as five men broke into his Capon Street home just before 12pm.

Emergency services treated the man for upper body injuries.

He’s been taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.

On arrival police found the men had jumped into a vehicle parked nearby and driven away.

Police remain at the scene.
