A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after an explosion at the worksite of the Albion Hotel in South Melbourne.
It’s understood the man was working on a gas pipe or tank when the incident occurred around 12.30pm on Tuesday.
He suffered burns to his chest.
Police are on scene and the workplace authority is expected to investigate.
The Albion, which is part-owned by Collingwood champion Dane Swan, was the subject of an arson attack in October last year.
